    Thumbs up Ultra7z Optimizer 0.12 is out

    Ultra7z Optimizer 0.12

    * updated 7-zip 9.20 Final
    * now ultra7z.exe uses external 7z.exe and 7z.dll (first from the same folder, then from PATH, then from %programfiles%, then internal) and ultra7zs.exe was deleted.
    * added compression modes (you can set -fastest,fast,normal,good,best,ultra,extreme,extrem e2,extreme3)
    * added parametres for LZMA, LZMA2 and PPMd ("ultra7z.exe [-best] [-d128m] [-mem1536m] [-fb273] [-o32] [-log] archive_name")
    * for parametres "-good" and higher added modes LZMA2 (usually better on already compressed files and EXE) and DELTA (better on BMP and WAV files), "-normal" doesn't use LZMA2 and DELTA for more compatibility whith other archivers.
    * at the end it compares whith simple solid lzma and lzma2
    * added BZIP2 in "-extreme3"
    * fixed some crashes

    I can confirm it too. Today I've tried new ultra7z at work and our network version of Avira didn't like it. Well, I included it to exceptions but its defenitly not very pleasant situation.
    Here is the report from VirusTotal for original exe:
    Original
    It gets 16 reactions (40%). I passed ultra7z.exe through latest UPX with some undoc option (which changes the loader) and cleaned the whole UPX signature. Now it gets 5 reactions (12%):
    Modified
    I can provide you with the modified EXE or the options to use, if you interested.

    Anyone tried this one yet.

    I use this one with Win7 X64, and every file I try gives file not found in 7z.

    BTW: nod32 reports no virus

    Same for me on XP, SP3, 32-bit. Neither folder-name, nor file-name do contain spaces or dot or other special characters. I tried with two files (one zip and one 7z) in ultra7z's folder and tried batch-files and by hand -> file not found... :-/

    I use this one with Win7 X64, and every file I try gives file not found in 7z.
    The Filename must be entered with full path.
    e.g.: "ultra7z.exe [options] D:\fullpath\to\file.7z" or "ultra7z-batch.cmd D:\fullpath\to\file.7z"

    Btw, the false positive from some anti-virus is, because Ultra7z extracts the 7z.exe and 7z.dll from it self to %temp% folder, if no regular 7z installation is found or 7z found in the same folder as Ultra7z.

    Thanks! Sorry for making noise if I overlooked something.

    Either way, the false positive is gone.
    Just out of curiosity: why is this done, when 7z.exe and 7z.dll are shipped in the archive => there *is* 7z.exe and 7z.dll in the same folder as ultra7z by default. Double-save?!?

    Best regards!

    Ultra7z is nothing else as a big batch file. The Ultra7z.exe extracts this batch and work with. When there is no 7z.exe+7z.dll found on some defined folders, the Ultra7z.exe extracts a copy in the folder %localappdata%.
    You can try it out yourself, rename all 7z.exe/7z.dll you found on your computer, and ultra7z works anyway. Thats the only reason, why ultra7z.exe is 1,2mb in size

    Yes, I do know that. But possibly you want to have a look into the archive one can download via:
    Code:
    http://ultra7z.ru/

    http://depositfiles.com/files/iv73i163l

    http://www.filesonic.com/file/41516977
    the two files (7z.exe + 7z.dll) are shipped inside this archive. So *I* do not see any advantage in shipping a backup for the shipping inside ultra7z.

    Best regards!

    I think, the author of ultra7z will make sure, that there is at least one copy of a stable 7zip version, V9.20 in this case (lzma2).
