Best Nintendo DS games compression algorithm

Hello, I was trying to compress NDS files and I was wondering what is the best compression algorythm avaiable for this pourpouse. I don't have very powerful PCs so I can't test many algorythms, but I tried zpaq500 and zpaq600a in addition to WinRAR, but they are not very performant. So, what is the best algorythm with NDS games?

NDS files may contain everything - from sounds and textures to level maps. My quick answer. If you compress each file separately, try PAQ8*. If you compress bunch if files to one archive, try 7-Zip in Ultra mode.

I tried ZPAQ and it was not much better than WinRAR, do you think PAQ8 is better?
EDIT: Is there any way to use better compression (for example 7 or with PAQ8 on PCs with less RAM?

If you are not getting much compression, then the files are probably already compressed.

Most NDS are compressable, I got a folder of 1.2gb. Using FreeARC I compressed it to 500mb. I'm not quite sure which comp. method i've used, but you could try "-mex8" if the default setting is not good enough. If you like to spend more time on (de)compression, go for a setting called ultra. However, single files do not have such a high ratio...compressing more games in one archive is better as these nds files often contain the same data.

we don't know your reqs, but usually nanozip and sometimes freearc provides best speed/compression ratio. may be zcm

if you have a lot of time for compression and decompression, srep+paq8 should provide best results

Strangely 7-zip in Ultra mode with LZMA2 compress as good as ZPAQ but much faster. Do you think nanozip will be better?

usually nanozip has better compression. why not look into benchmarks?
