Thanks. I updated the link and moved it to the top since I think it is the only GUI wrapper still being actively maintained. http://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html

Hi, I found a little bug that when a folder name contains extensions, I got an error says "Input string was not in a correct format"
I've attached a zpaq file that can reproduce this error.

I reproduced the file's path in a new zpaq archive and there is not error. I think the problem is the attribute of a file: (0x00020020)

Ver Date Time (UT) Attr Size Ratio File
    ----- ---------- -------- ------ ------------ ------ ----
    > 1 2015-01-19 03:44:16 D..... 0 1.0000 C:/Users/Sen/Documents/Program Files/Convert.NET/
    > 1 2015-01-16 06:15:54 0x00020020 2312431 0.9455 C:/Users/Sen/Documents/Program Files/Convert.NET/Convert.exe
    > 1 2015-01-19 03:44:54 .A.... 1493 0.9455 C:/Users/Sen/Documents/Program Files/Convert.NET/Convert.exe.xml

Can you explain the host system and the zpaq version used?

    Thank you.
    Greetings.

I'm using Win8.1 x64 and zpaq64 6.60. I can't find anything special about the attribute of this file. Could this be a bug of zpaq?

When ZPAQ stores a Windows file without the usual attributes (D,A,S,H,R,I) it displays a hexadecimal number instead. It might be confusing Zpaq Explorer because it is more than 6 characters. 0x20000 is the NO_SCRUB_DATA attribute in Windows 8 and higher. I am writing a new version that will display additional characters for the other attributes but it might still go over 6 characters.

As Matt said, the cause is an attribute code in Windows 8 and higher that breaks Zpaq Explorer.
You can use -noattributes when adding files to avoid the problem.

Thanks. Unfortunately v7.00 will probably break it since the list format has changed. You may want to get the preview at http://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq700.zip

Thanks! But you uploaded the windows version.
Another thing: Could you please include in the folder the zpaq version your program works with? Just to save the user additional trouble and prevent a version hell. Thank you.

Related to output syntax, maybe you'll want to take a look to "MultiArc". Is a tool that reads the console output of a CLI compressor and translate it to use in a GUI. The cool thing is that it uses config files so the author doesn't have to edit the sources and recompile every time something changes in one of the programs. Additionally, that system allow users to create new types of supported archives. See this collection for an example.

    Hello!

This is a .NET binary that runs under MONO framework in Linux.
The working version is Zpaq 6.59, you can download it from http://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq659.zip and compile with make (you must have g++ installed).

    Greetings!
