    Question Precomp stream detection

    Hello,
I saw a file compressed using precomp+srep like this:
    precomp+srep:m3f:a1+lzma:69mb:normal:bt4:128:lc8
the file contents original size is 2.3g.b and the result was 1g.b

i've tried to unpack the files then pack them using the same method above or some custom methods of my own but i always end up with a file size 2g.b

what are the factors that would make precomp detect more streams to downsize the file with such ratio?
Or in other words, what methods would have been applied on the file not appearing in archive info solid blocks tab?

    Thanks.

Probably recursive mode does it. Aside from decompressing the the archive, it processes files inside it.

IIRC brute / intense levels are irrelevant w.r.t. this feature, precomp does this by default. Try a zip inside a zip, uncompressing single layer is nigh useless, but precomp should enable to compress the actual contents.

The contents in the file are not zipped and i don't think brute mode applied on them cause it will take years to finish compressing.

Unless you tell us what it is, it's hard to tell. There are many file types that can be processed by Precomp, actually nobody knows them all.

They are game files from FIFA Demo, all the files are .rx3, what i know for sure that those files has been processed with precomp 0.3.8 and srep but the thing that makes me crazy that i've tried many methods and none of them gave the same results.

Actually it's not repacking, no one repacks a demo , it's a challenge between me and the author of the file cause he refuses to learn me how he did it.
So i'm here to learn what other refuses to learn me.
The methods used on the files are obvious no need for further use of other tools but i can't achieve it, that's it :/
So can you please hint me to some tips i'm not aware of.

On slow mode with precomp 0.3.8 i get more streams detected than intense mode on 0.4.3
What still possible to do in precomp 0.3.8 to detect more streams other than the painfully brute mode?

There are no clairvoyants here. Just upload the file and give a link. Maybe somebody will take a look at it and provide you with help.
