    Unstructured data compression

    Hi,
I am interested in data compression. Now, I am trying to compress big unstructured data using dictionary based compression. Please give me advise it may be or not.

If there is not some special structure you can exploit, then go with one of the many compression programs or libraries already written. Do some tests. Or is there some special reason not to use them?

hsu mon, what do you mean by unstructured data?
Some use this phrase to mean "anything that is not a database". Some mean something stricter. Explain what do you want to compress, why the standard tools are not good enough for out and help will be given to you.
