    Codebok encoding

    Hello people...

I'm new here. I'm studying data compression for a short time and now I found this great place!!!

I'm interested in something vertical compression, like a deduplication, where I have lots of files that share some part of data and I want to put this shared parts in a codebook and than reference it. My main doubt is: Could you suggest works that deal with codebook encoding?

look at zpaq, it implemnts exactly this, although codebook stores sha1 hashes of the fragments - as almost any other deduplication implementation
