    Compressor translated to VHDL?

    Hi,

This forum contains some of the most capable compressors currently available. I would like to find out if there has been any work done on implementing the base algorithms in HDL?

Some of the common transforms used amongst all programs is probably a good starting point. I will be spending some time performing web searches for any open source implementations.

    Thanks,

    Mike

I really want to know that too. AFAIR, there is only deflate in HDL. And also there is a specialized chip which implements deflate at very high rates. Also, it's obvious that some people had implemented PPP like basic methods. Who knows. Maybe one could program a CM or BWT in HDL
